We know that chemical dependency is a disease that can wreck entire families. This is why we also place a great deal of emphasis in helping families to better understand what their loved one is really dealing with. We helping to understand the “why” and the “hows.” People do not simply become an addict overnight. It takes time, and actually takes effort as well. We help families to understand that no matter what they have gone through with their addicted relative, now is the time when their love, help, and support are truly needed. So, it may take counseling and follow up sessions with family members as well.
Why You Should Attend Counseling
Your permission to attend counseling, or to visit, is of course with the client’s permission. Our greatest concern is that their every need is taken care of. We simply want to make sure their environment remains positive so that the treatment can have the desire effect. We offer a range of services for older children, families, and significant others as well. The entire treatment process is geared toward educating those involved about the addiction and methods of recovery. For some, it can be an extremely difficult process. This is why your help, and the help of your entire family, is so vital to a patient’s recovery.
You are not to worry though. We have worked with countless families just like yours. When we initially speak with you over the phone, we will ask a number of questions to get a feel for your loved one’s past, health, or addiction. We may also ask questions about health insurance etc., so it is good for you to have these things handy. Initially, we can give you an idea of what programs we think might be beneficial, but we like to reserve that after we have met with the client, and conducted an in-depth analysis. Then, we can plan for the client’s detox, and an entire plan for full follow up as well.
