It's never to late, Break the Addiction

Medical Evaluation

Sprout Health California only wants the best for individuals attending our treatment.

Medical evaluations offer a number of benefits to individuals seeking treatment. In addition to learning more about each patient, medical staff are also able to identify problems that need to be dealt with before they grow into more serious issues. This medical screening can not only save lives but also improve the quality of life for many individuals seeking treatment whether it be for mental or emotional problems.

Medical EvaluationFor persons suffering from addiction to alcohol or substances, medical evaluations allow for a more specialized form of care and treatment. This customization of treatment is one of the reasons that personalized care is so effective at helping individuals not only heal but also avoid relapsing after treatment.

Sprout Health California staff will conduct a medical evaluation on all patients. This thorough evaluation will help staff understand the proper treatment needed. If medical testing is required, those will also be obtained from patients in a calm and relaxing manner that does not induce anxiety or feelings of being vulnerable.

A full health history will also be compiled during the medical evaluation. This questionnaire is designed to get a background and perspective on an individual’s medical, substance abuse, and personal history. Questions will range from concerns on drug or alcohol usage frequency to occurrences of mood swings, attempts at sobriety, and other personal questions. The goal of these questions is to gain further information that can help improve treatment. Individuals who do not complete every question will be able to answer them in a private and personal setting with staff. At Sprout Health California, privacy, comfort, and compassion are the top priorities after effective treatment.

Following the questionnaire, a full medical exam will be conducted. This examination is not invasive but rather more akin to a full physical evaluation of each individual’s body. A clinician will be able to note any injuries, mobility problems, or other bodily concerns that will need to be taken into account for treatment to be fully effective. Medical analysis of bodily functions, such as breathing and heart rate, will also be conducted at this time.

The purpose of this medical evaluation is to identify other problems an individual may be facing that are not only mental or emotional. In these cases, individuals will be receiving physical treatment to help heal their bodies and physical issues along with other treatment to help with their emotional and mental problems. This fully comprehensive form of treatment is sure to put many individuals back on the road to complete health.

Should any conditions be found that are not linked to mental or emotional problems, they will be treated at a pace for maximum healing without interfering with other treatment. All individuals needing ongoing support for their physical problems will also receive the necessary care so they can fully function during treatment for emotional and mental issues.

That is why this medical evaluation is so important to their full recovery. Many individuals feel uncomfortable during medical evaluations but our trained staff is patient, kind, compassionate, and willing to work with those who may require a slower pace during the medical examination. At the end of the medical evaluation, all individuals feel at peace and glad to have been cared for with respect and kindness.
